- DJ Ranma S.net - Project Relief!

As we all know, Hurricane Katrina just plowed into New Orleans and other area, just destroying it.  What we don't know is that we have anime and cosplayers down there who might have lost everything.  I think it's time we start Project Relief.  What I am asking of EVERYONE here to sort  through your clothing and other items and if you can spare it, to donate.  I know I have a pair of pants I can't wear I'm donating.  I know it isn't much but we can all have an item to give.  Once we have sorted through everything we can all meet up in NYC with our clothing we're donating and take it to the Salvation Army.  If you have tons of stuff, you can take it directly to your local SA location.

One of the reasons I am doing this because there are times that the anime and cosplay fandoms get bad reps.  I feel that we as a fandom should work together and help out our fellow otaku, ya know? :) The other reason I'm doing this is because I have a friend down there who's parents didn't leave until the very last minute, so I'm currently scared shitless out of my mind.  So, who's with me on this?

UPDATE: She is alive and well with her family in Texas.

Team Ups are forming!  What are Team Ups?  Team Ups are basically a group of people working together for donations.  All you have to do is send me your name, e-mail address, and your location.  I will post that and people in that area can contact you for dropping off clothes, or helping you to arrange a group donation.  Right noww e have a teams putting together donations in Southern California, Maryland, and Charlotte, NC.  Good work gals! 

NYO! Cosplay is putting together a small bag of clothes for donation on Friday, September 9, 2005.  We will be in front of McDonalds in Penn Station around 2PM to 5PM, so if you can please drop off any unneeded clothes or if you want to help in donations.

4 Sep 05: Much apologies for the no updates, major computer problems.  First off my friend Cynthia is alive and well in Texas with family. Second off, NYO! Cosplay will have another clothing drive on Friday Sept 9, 2005!  Location has been posted.  We're also working on a fundraiser as well, so we will keep you posted! :)

31 Aug 05 - Project Relief begins! I only have one pair of pants to give but it's a start.  I have tons of clothes in storage that I will go through and give.  Information has been posted NYO! Cosplay's website and ML.  Information will be posted on Cosplay.com as well as the livejournal community.  Listen to Orange Lounge Radio this Sunday for more information as well as I will be calling up as well!
